    What is a virtual assistant (VA)?

    A virtual assistant works like a personal assistant or secretary, but remotely. In an entrepreneur’s view, hiring a virtual assistant is a lot more cost effective and flexible than hiring an in-person employee.

    What kind of jobs will I handle as a virtual assistant?

    VA’s may receive any tasks that can be carried out remotely over an internet connection. Most entrepreneurs are looking for someone who can help them manage their day-to-day administrative tasks and customer relationship management.

    This could include answering general enquiry emails, calendar management and meeting scheduling, research, social media management and more.

     

    Depending on your previous work experience, you may also have specific specialised skills such as WordPress or bookkeeping.

    What happens after I sign up?

    Once you have signed up, you will need to log in and completed a Virtual Assistant Profile. Your profile is then submitted for approval and published on our site visible to clients who want to find a virtual assistant online.

     

    Please note that profiles with complete information will be approved.

    What hours are virtual assistants expected to work?

    When you complete your Virtual Assistant Profile you will be asked to specify your preferred working hours, shift and compensation. This is meant to be a guide for entrepreneurs searching on the site. The number of hours, work schedules and fees will be agreed directly with your entrepreneur client during or after the interview.

     

    The entrepreneur may or may not require you to work on local holidays or Philippines holidays.

     

    Be sure to clarify with your entrepreneur client if you are expected to work on public holidays or if paid holidays are part of your package.

    Will I be assigned to do inbound and outbound calls?

    You can specify on your Virtual Assistant Profile if you are willing to make calls as part of your role. If you have indicated that you are open to voice-roles, you will need to make sure that you have a suitable work environment.

     

    While some clients specifically request VAs who can make calls, we also have many roles available that don't require calling.

    Who will I report to in my virtual assistant role?

    You will be work directly with your entrepreneur client and their team. Depending on their company set up, you may report to them directly or to another team member.

     

    Check with the client during the interview about their company structure and who you will be working with and reporting to.

    How much should I charge as a virtual assistant?

    Your compensation will depend on the role you are applying for, the level of expertise you have, plus any bonuses that your entrepreneur client agree on.

    How do I get paid?

    Typically, PayPal is the simplest and safest way to get paid. There are many other options available depending on where in the world your client is based.

     

    Payment methods and terms should be agreed directly with your client.

    How can I find virtual assistant jobs through Connected Women?

    After completing the survey application, your Virtual Assistant Profile will be visible to entrepreneurs and small business owners who sign up on our site. If you are shortlisted, the client will contact you to discuss their available Virtual Assistant job and set up an interview.
